At 23, as a second-year PhD student at Imperial, I watched a colleague present theoretical modelling to a room that had mostly switched off. I saw it could be tested that day with the laser systems downstairs — so I ran down and took the measurements. That work became first-author papers in Science and Nature Physics, and the foundation of my PhD.
It's been the pattern ever since: when I see value sitting idle, I go and turn it into something real.

Global Executive Director of Offshore Wind commercial operations. Closed multi-billion-dollar contracts including the 800 MW Vineyard Wind project, the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in the US. More than $5 billion in sales across my career.
Ran operations and finance for a 200+ GW green hydrogen and Power-to-X portfolio across 34 countries. The hydrogen economics never quite worked — but underneath them I found the hybrid case.
Developing hybrid renewable projects in Africa, and the software that designs them.
